The College of William and Mary's Premier Student-Led Big Band
Who We Are |
The Wham Bam Big Band originates from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Managed and run entirely by students, Wham Bam has become a fixture on campus and strives to create an active jazz presence on campus. Whether accompanying the Yule Log Ceremony, hyping up the crowd for Charter Day, or gigging in the surrounding Williamsburg area, we plan to keep the music coming!

Our History
|
The Wham Bam Big Band was founded in 2007 by Marc Presler ('10) with the goal of providing a way for students at William & Mary to perform jazz in a more social, approachable setting. We aim to create a thriving jazz community on campus and connect students who love to play. The group has recorded and released three CDs throughout its 15-year existence and performed all over Williamsburg, VA in places on campus like Lodge 1 and at various venues and events around the city. Wham Bam has also traveled to perform in places like The Camel in Richmond, VA.

Wham Bam has performed at fundraisers, galas, auctions, restaurants, dances (swing/salsa/ballroom), farmer's markets, and all around William & Mary's beautiful campus. The Little Band
|
Looking for that live band sound but don't have the need or room for a full big band? The Wham Bam Little Band has you covered! The Wham Bam Little Band is a jazz combo made up of select members from the Big Band who perform at smaller events. Comprised of a rhythm section and a selection of our top brass and reed players, the Little Band can handle swing dances, smoky nightclubs, or fancy galas with ease. When requesting details about the Wham Bam Big Band, be sure to ask if the Big Band or Little Band is right for your event!
