Auditions will be held in early September during the first week of classes (specific date TBD), or as needed to fill openings. Requirements for auditions are as follows:
- a short (minimum 16 bars, no more than 64) prepared jazz excerpt of your choosing. If you don't have an excerpt to prepare, online databases like IMSLP are great resources for free music of all kinds.
- 16-32 measures of sight reading.
- Additionally, be prepared to answer questions about past involvement in jazz and music in general. These questions won't be in-depth, but it's helpful to know how experienced potential members are.
